Ask ChatGPT about your firm's numbers
KPI-Connect gives ChatGPT read-only access to the same data behind your LawKPIs dashboards — practice management, intake, and accounting, already joined. Ask a question in your own words and get an answer from your own numbers, not a generic one.
What ChatGPT can see through KPI-Connect
Nothing is written back, and ChatGPT never connects to your source systems directly — only to LawKPIs, which is where the actual data access is controlled.
- •Everything already joined inside LawKPIs — practice management, intake, and accounting once each is connected
- •The same matter, billing, and collections data behind your dashboards and Daily Pulse email
- •Nothing outside LawKPIs — ChatGPT never gets direct access to Clio, MyCase, QuickBooks, or any other connected system
- •Answers to specific questions, in plain English, without opening a dashboard first
- •Follow-up questions on the same thread — ask a number, then ask why it moved
- •Unlimited queries, at no extra cost beyond your LawKPIs plan
- •The same joined-system answer as the dashboards — a question about profitability pulls in real collections, not just billed amounts

ChatGPT integration FAQ
What is KPI-Connect?+
KPI-Connect is LawKPIs' connector that lets an AI assistant like ChatGPT answer questions using your firm's own data — the same joined practice management, intake, and accounting data behind your dashboards. This page covers the ChatGPT connection specifically.
Does ChatGPT get direct access to Clio, MyCase, or QuickBooks?+
No. ChatGPT only talks to LawKPIs through KPI-Connect. LawKPIs is the one connected to your source systems; ChatGPT asks LawKPIs for an answer and LawKPIs returns it. Your underlying systems are never exposed to ChatGPT directly.
Is this read-only?+
Yes. KPI-Connect only retrieves data to answer a question. It can't create, edit, or delete anything in LawKPIs or in any connected system.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT a general question?+
A general question to ChatGPT has no idea what your firm's numbers are. Through KPI-Connect, ChatGPT is answering from your actual matters, billing, and collections data — the same data your dashboards are built on, not a guess or a general industry figure.
Is there a limit on how many questions we can ask?+
No. Queries through KPI-Connect are unlimited and included in your LawKPIs plan.
What kind of questions actually work well?+
Specific ones. 'Which flat-fee matters lost money last quarter' or 'how's our realization rate trending this year' work better than something vague like 'how's the firm doing.' The more specific the question, the more useful the answer.
