The Lawmatics integration
Response time and conversion rate only tell half the story. Join Lawmatics against your billing data and you see which leads actually turned into revenue, not just which ones turned into a signed engagement letter.
What LawKPIs reads from Lawmatics, and what it builds
Nothing is written back. LawKPIs reads the fields below on a regular schedule and joins them against your practice management and accounting data.
- •Leads and matters — source, intake stage, assigned attorney, and creation date
- •Response and follow-up timestamps — how long a lead sat before first contact and each stage after it
- •Pipeline stage changes, so you can see where leads stall before becoming a signed matter
- •Referral source and campaign tags, where your firm tracks them
- •The matter ID a converted lead becomes, so it can be matched against billing once it's a real client
- •Lead response time, tracked daily instead of discovered in a quarterly review
- •Conversion rate by source and by intake staff member, so you know which channels and which people actually close cases
- •What a converted lead is worth — signed leads joined against what those matters go on to bill and collect
- •Which referral sources produce clients worth keeping versus ones that convert but never turn profitable
- •Daily Pulse flags for leads sitting past your firm's response-time target before anyone follows up
A fast response means nothing if the lead never turns into revenue
Most intake dashboards stop at response time and conversion rate. Those numbers matter, but they don't tell you which leads were worth converting. A referral source that converts fast can still be sending you matters that never turn profitable, while a slower-converting source sends fewer leads that are worth far more. LawKPIs matches each converted lead in Lawmatics to the matter it becomes, then follows that matter through billing and, once QuickBooks Online is connected, real collections — so you can see the full path from first contact to what the firm actually kept.

Lawmatics integration FAQ
Does LawKPIs write anything back to Lawmatics?+
No. The connection is read-only. LawKPIs reads lead, pipeline, and timestamp data to build dashboards — it never creates or edits records in Lawmatics.
How does LawKPIs know what a lead is 'worth'?+
By matching a converted lead to the matter it becomes, then joining that matter against your practice management and, once connected, QuickBooks Online billing data. That's what turns 'this lead converted' into 'this lead turned into $14,200 collected.'
Do we need practice management connected for Lawmatics to be useful?+
Connect Lawmatics on its own and you'll see response time and conversion by source right away. Adding your practice management system is what lets LawKPIs match a converted lead to the matter it became and show what it was actually worth.
How long does setup take?+
A few minutes. You connect Lawmatics through an OAuth-style permission screen and grant read access, the same as any other app.
